"Truly Serves for 25 years of Dedicated Banking Service and Onwards"
“CBQP:Truly Serves for 25 Years of Dedicated Banking Service and Onwards,” is the theme of this year’s General Assembly (GA) successfully held on June 25, 2016 at Queen Margarette Downtown, Lucena City. The annual event was represented by 148 delegates from cooperative members and CBQP management and staff.

The program commenced with the welcome remarks of the CBQP Chairman Atty. Jorge B. Vargas. He greeted everyone warmly. He quoted in his speech, one of the popular Filipino sayings, “Ang hindi marunong lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makakarating sa paroroonan,” and enjoined everyone to live by it always. He mentioned the achievements of the bank and how it started in 1991 with only 1.25 million capital until it reached more than half a billion this year. Aimed to distinguish CBQP from the rest of the successful Banks, the Chairman lauded our streamlined business process through technology updates which started three years ago.

Guest speaker Mr. Salvador Villareal Valeroso, Regional Director of Region IV-Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), mentioned that “People united can never be defeated,” the phrase that marked the beginning of his message are the lack of education, poor governance, no core management team, no internal control mechanism, and equally lack of loyal and honest members to put together, they are the main reasons why cooperatives flounder and fail. He ended his speech by motivating the members to be loyal and constant patrons of the products and services of the Bank to abate the looming threats the industry is facing.
